ACADEMIC REGISTRAR ACADEMIC MANAGEMENT DIVISION (ACMD), CHANCELLERY

KEY ROLES :

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the division’s short-term and long-term strategic plans to achieve organizational growth and academic excellence.
  • Set measurable objectives and performance indicators for academic programs, institutional reputation, and student satisfaction.

Academic Management:

  • Provide oversight for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic programs, ensuring curriculum relevance and quality standards.
  • Ensure all academic programs meet or exceed internal and external accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve adherence to academic governance, ensuring policies and processes align with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as graduation rates, student engagement, faculty workload, and learning outcomes.
  • Support the development and review of academic policies, program structures, and evaluation mechanisms to address student needs and institutional objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to the academic calendar and timeliness in the publication of the academic calendar to support smooth planning and execution of academic activities.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the implementation of efficient systems and processes for admissions, enrollment, academic records management, and reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with internal teams, students, parents, government agencies, accreditation bodies, and industry partners.
  • Act as a key liaison with education regulatory authorities to ensure institutional compliance with academic policies.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in leadership, education management, or quality assurance processes in education are an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 20 years’ working experience; preferably with 15 years of experience in academic management, education administration, or a similar senior leadership role, preferably in higher education institutions.
  • Experience in managing complex academic programs, faculty performance, institutional operations, and program accreditation processes.
  • Experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, and execution in a dynamic academic environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing organizational growth.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, such as partnerships with accreditation bodies, government entities, and external education organizations.
  • Working experience in Higher Education Business is an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and achieve high output while maintaining high standards, taking pride in producing quality work while managing a busy workload successfully to ensure that deadlines and targets are met.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable initiative and enthusiasm, and the ability to lead and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead teams toward achieving strategic goals.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with faculty, students, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, performance analysis, and developing academic insights from metrics and KPIs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regional, national, and international regulatory frameworks and accreditation processes for educational institutions.
