Job description:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Accounting / Business Studies / Economics Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (IGCSE level).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Accounting, Business Studies, and/or Economics in line with the Cambridge Secondary and IGCSE syllabi
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources that meet Cambridge standards
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including EAL students and those with varying abilities
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress using formative and summative assessments
  • Prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoint assessments and IGCSE examinations
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and real-world application
  • Integrate case studies, current business trends, and interactive learning strategies into lessons
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, co-curricular activities, and professional development
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support whole-school initiatives

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Education, or a related field
  • Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at an international school
  • Proven experience teaching the Cambridge International curriculum (IGCSE or Cambridge Lower Secondary)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Business, or Economics
  • Experience teaching IGCSE Accounting, Business Studies, or Economics
  • Familiarity with case-based and inquiry-driven teaching approaches
  • Experience integrating digital tools in teaching
