SENIOR TECHNICIAN / TECHNICIAN MARINE & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY SECTION, UNIKL MIMET

KEY ROLES :

• Assist lecturers during teaching sessions and monitor classes/workshops for safety compliance and proper use of materials, equipment, and tools.
• Prepare necessary materials and documents, including inspecting and checking equipment and tools before use.
• Monitor demonstrations and observe classes to ensure safe usage of equipment and power tools.
• Receive and address reports of technical problems; forward unresolved issues to the Maintenance Unit.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, ensure all important signage and labels are intact, and conduct routine checks on a daily/weekly basis.
• Check and review updated maintenance, usage, and damage records weekly, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Maintain accurate records of tool and consumable material usage on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, filed or logged properly.
• Participate in audit-related activities by preparing required files and records.
• Support and assist in any ad hoc tasks related to the section as assigned by the Section Head.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Diploma in any related field / at least 7 years of service in UniKL for Certificate/STPM/SPM holders.
• Minimum 3 – 4 years of work experience in a related field.
• Able to work with minimal or without supervision.
• Capable of working independently, highly flexible, and able to perform under pressure.
• Knowledge of marine equipment such as pumps, purifiers, refrigeration systems, diesel engines, boilers, and FWG systems is an added advantage.
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
• Strong communication skills in Bahasa Melayu and English (verbal, written, and listening).
• Possess good analytical skills, a positive attitude, and a results-oriented mindset.
