Biomedical Technician

Technical Support

Support installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of biomedical equipment under supervision.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is functioning properly and maintained according to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct electrical safety testing for clinical equipment and devices.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff and service vendors for equipment installation, servicing, loan units and demonstrations.
  • Record daily readings for medical gas systems to ensure continuous and safe supply.
  • Respond to equipment malfunction reports and assist with repairs.
  • Monitor and follow up on preventive maintenance activities performed by external vendors.
  • Maintain proper records of maintenance activities and completed tasks.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and work areas.

Requirement

  • Diploma and on-the-job training or an associate degree in biomedical engineering or medical electronics.
  • Able to understand, read and write Bahasa Malaysia and English, preferably.
