Key Responsibilities
Library Management & Administration:
- Maintain and manage all aspects of the school library, including furniture, equipment, books, and materials.
- Handle library databases, ensuring accurate cataloging, organization, and upkeep of records.
- Manage stock inventory for textbooks, fiction/non-fiction books, magazines, journals, newspapers, school ties, and sports garments.
- Oversee the borrowing and returning process for books, past year papers, magazines, and other materials.
Procurement & Documentation:
- Prepare documentation for purchasing textbooks, workbooks, exercise books, library materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Conduct data entry, filing, and follow up on purchases (PR, PO, DO, invoices).
- Source and compare quotes from external suppliers for library materials and maintain an updated EMS/catalog system.
Customer Service & Support:
- Assist students, teachers, staff, and authorized users with book/literature searches using databases, printed resources, and online platforms.
- Maintain a welcoming library environment conducive to learning.
- Coordinate, promote, and assist in book campaigns, exhibitions, and library activities.
Operations Support:
- Manage and monitor printing and photocopying services within the library.
- Handle sales of books, school ties, and sports garments.
- Support Cambridge exam invigilation, including exam preparation, venue setup, paper sorting, and supervision.
General & Ad-hoc Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support activities and programs assigned by the Head of Department.
- Assist in group-related projects or tasks when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
Education:
- Minimum Diploma, Advanced/Higher Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Library Science, or related field.
Experience:
- At least 1–3 years of working experience in library, administration, or related roles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Good knowledge of library management, clerical and administrative practices in Malaysia.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in using library systems, databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
