DINING ROOM SERVICE / ASSISTANT SERVER – DISNEY CRUISE LINE

Join Disney Cruise Line and take your hospitality career to the next level!

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Dining Room Service / Assistant Server candidates to join Disney Cruise Line and deliver exceptional dining experiences to guests from around the world.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Assistant Server, you will:

  • Organize and support dining service for approximately 16–22 guests across two dinner seatings per night.
  • Coordinate closely with the Dining Room Server to ensure a smooth and memorable guest experience.
  • Provide food and beverage service during breakfast and lunch, including full-service restaurants, quick-service outlets and buffets.
  • Handle and serve a variety of food products, including meat, pork, shellfish, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, sesame and nuts.
  • Use the Micros system to process alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders.
  • Provide menu explanations and food & beverage recommendations to guests.
  • Practice appropriate up-selling and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service procedures, including verifying guest identification and age when required.
  • Assist with additional duties, including Castaway Cay, based on operational requirements and leadership direction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 6 months of experience as a Server in the food & beverage industry.
  • Experience must be gained within the last 2 years.
  • Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant with approximately 100–150+ covers per meal period is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage, including international wines, cocktails and alcohol brands.
  • Comfortable speaking to groups of approximately 10–12 guests and presenting menu information.
  • Able to provide food and beverage recommendations confidently.
  • Able to carry a banquet tray and lift/move items weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong guest-service mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous ship/cruise experience is an advantage.

WORKING HOURS & CONTRACT

  • Contract: 6 month onboard / 2 months off
  • Working Hours: Approximately 80–90 hours per week
  • Daily Hours: Approximately 10–12 hours per day
  • Minimum Hours: 84 hours per week

Working hours, gratuities and earnings may vary depending on ship, itinerary, occupancy, season and operational requirements.
