About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Chef to join our team as the second-in-command in the kitchen. In this role, you will work closely with and shadow the Head Chef, supporting daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced casual dining environment.

This position offers hands-on exposure to real kitchen operations under the guidance of an experienced mentor, allowing you to develop, refine, and elevate your culinary skills. You will gain practical experience in maintaining food quality, managing kitchen flow, and executing dishes to standard.

For individuals who are eager to grow, this role also provides a clear pathway for progression, with structured evaluation and opportunities to advance into a full-fledged Chef position over time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the Head Chef / Senior Chef in daily kitchen operations
  • Learn and develop a strong understanding of the restaurant's menu, including taste profiling and quality standards
  • Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation
  • Support the smooth flow of kitchen operations during service hours
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen
  • Be adaptable and able to work across different kitchen stations as required

Job Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced casual dining environment
  • Prior exposure to Asian cuisine (especially Chinese or Japanese) is an added advantage
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen
  • Willingness to learn, with a strong passion for culinary arts
  • Basic culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations

Remuneration:

MYR 4,000 - MYR 5,000
