Company Overview:
Join a leading mechanical construction firm based in Penang, Malaysia, with headquarters in New York City. We specialize in HVAC systems and mechanical contracting, and we’re looking for a skilled Engineer or Sketcher with experience in preparing HVAC shop drawings. This fully remote, work-from-home position offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to collaborate with international teams via Zoom, MS Teams, and TeamViewer.

Position Summary:
We are hiring a remote-based Engineer or Draftsperson who can independently prepare HVAC shop drawings. Candidates with any experience in construction-related shop drawings will be strongly considered. Whether you're a fresh graduate eager to learn or a seasoned professional, we offer specialized training in HVAC systems and drafting to help you succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate HVAC shop drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting software.
  • Interpret project specifications, engineering drawings, and design requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate remotely with engineers, project managers, and contractors to coordinate and review drawings.
  • Interpret and incorporate design intent, architectural layouts, and coordination requirements into shop drawings.
  • Assist with documentation for submission and revisions.
  • Support estimating teams with basic quantity takeoffs, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with HVAC systems or construction shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent design software.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical layouts.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently from home.
  • Strong English communication skills; Chinese proficiency is a plus for collaboration with international clients and vendors.
  • Ability to work during 6 PM – 12 AM Malaysia time to align with US-based teams and clients.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Monthly salary: RM 4,000 – RM 8,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Work-from-home with full remote setup and collaboration tools provided.
