Responsibilities

  • You must investigate and validate security alerts escalated from Level 1 analysts to determine the nature, scope, and impact of potential cyber security incidents.
  • You are expected to perform in-depth analysis using security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, network monitoring, and threat detection platforms to identify and respond to security threats.
  • You must conduct root cause analysis by examining Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), threat intelligence, attack techniques, and adversary behaviors.
  • You are expected to develop, fine-tune, and maintain detection rules and use cases to improve threat detection capabilities and reduce false positives.
  • You must coordinate incident containment, eradication, and recovery activities while working closely with infrastructure, network, and IT operations teams.
  • You are expected to perform host, network, and basic malware forensic analysis to support investigations and preserve evidence.
  • You must participate in proactive threat hunting exercises to identify hidden threats and strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • You are expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of incident response procedures, playbooks, and monitoring processes.
  • You must collaborate with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and external security teams during major security incidents requiring specialized expertise.
  • You are expected to support cyber security readiness exercises, attack simulations, and incident response testing to validate detection and response capabilities.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Digital Forensics, Incident Response (DFIR), Security Operations Center (SOC), Threat Detection, or Cyber Security Operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience investigating security incidents using SIEM, EDR, network monitoring, and threat detection platforms.
  • Experience performing incident analysis, root cause investigation, threat containment, and remediation activities.
  • Good understanding of Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), MITRE ATT&CK Framework, threat intelligence, and attack methodologies.
  • Experience conducting host-based, network, and basic malware forensic analysis.
  • Hands-on experience creating and tuning security detection rules, alerts, and monitoring use cases.
  • Familiarity with proactive threat hunting techniques and compromise assessments across enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of incident response frameworks, cyber security operations, and digital forensic best practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as GCFA, GCIH, GCFE, CHFI, CompTIA CySA+, Security+, or similar are an advantage.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
