About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Halal Executive to manage and oversee the company's Halal certification process and ensure continuous compliance with Halal requirements across our operations.

The ideal candidate should have hands on experience successfully obtaining a Halal certificate for a previous employer, preferably within the food, bakery, restaurant, or food manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

Certification Application
* Prepare and submit the Halal certification application to the relevant certifying body (e.g. JAKIM / state Islamic religious department, as applicable)

* Compile and organize all required documentation: ingredient lists, supplier certificates, SOPs, floor plans, and equipment lists

* Liaise directly with certifying body officers, respond to queries, and coordinate site inspection visits

Supplier & Ingredient Compliance

* Review and verify Halal status of all raw materials, ingredients, and packaging suppliers

* Maintain an up-to-date register of supplier Halal certificates and renewal dates

* Vet new ingredients or suppliers before they're approved for use

Operational Standards & Internal Audits

* Develop and maintain Halal SOPs covering storage, handling, preparation, and cross-contamination prevention

* Conduct regular internal audits of kitchen, storage, and service areas to ensure ongoing compliance

* Maintain audit records and corrective action logs

Staff Training & Awareness

* Train kitchen, baking, and service staff on Halal handling requirements

* Work with chef and bakers on new recipe and early submission
