Full job description

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Employee Relations

    • Implement and execute Industrial Relations policies and procedures.
    • Manage staff disciplinary action in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment, Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Act 1967.
    • Assist in the development and review of HR policies related to industrial relations.
    • Address and resolve employee grievances and disputes effectively, fostering open lines of communication to minimize conflict.
    • Initiate awareness programs and activities that promote inclusivity, diversity, and employee well-being.
    • Lead investigations into employee complaints or grievances, ensuring thoroughness and impartiality. Gather facts through interviews, document reviews, and other investigative techniques.
  • B. Advisory Role

    • Act as a primary resource for Management on employee relations issues, offering insights on best practices and legal considerations related to employee behaviour and performance.
    • Provide guidance to employees on their rights and responsibilities, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
  • C. Policy Development

    • Draft, review, and revise employee relations policies to ensure they are current, effective, and compliant with relevant laws. This includes policies on harassment, discrimination, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions (major & minor misconduct).
    • Develop communication plans to ensure that all employees are aware of new or updated policies. Conduct informational sessions to explain the implications of these policies.
  • D. Employee Engagement

    • Develop and implement activities to improve employee engagement across the organization.
    • Design and initiate engagement activities and recognition programs to enhance a positive work culture and increase employee satisfaction.
    • Design, administer, and analyze employee engagement surveys to gather feedback on workplace issues.
    • Plan and execute team - building events, employee appreciation activities and wellness initiatives to strengthen workplace relationships.

    • REQUIREMENTS: Deep understanding in and relevant acts including Employment Act 1955, Industrial Act 1967 and Trade Union Act 1959.
    • Knowledge in disciplinary procedures, collective agreement and trade union.
    • Hand-on working experience, especially in conducting investigations into misconduct and malpractice as well as conducting Domestic Inquiry (“DI”).
    • Energetic, strong, and confident with good interpersonal skills and approachable
    • Proficient in analyzing data related to employee relations issues.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to provide support and guidance to employees and managers on performance issues, interpersonal conflicts.
