1. Job Description

A. Halal Compliance & Management

  • Manage and ensure overall compliance with the company’s Halal Assurance System (HAS).
  • Ensure all business operations comply with applicable Malaysian Halal requirements and standards.
  • Monitor the validity and renewal status of the Malaysia Halal Certification (SPHM).
  • Manage halal certification applications, renewals, amendments and related documentation.
  • Ensure food preparation, handling, storage and serving processes comply with halal requirements.

B. Halal Documentation

  • Prepare, maintain and update all halal-related documents and records.
  • Maintain records of raw materials, suppliers, halal certificates and supporting documents.
  • Ensure Halal policies, procedures, monitoring records and reports are properly maintained.
  • Prepare regular halal compliance reports for management review.

C. Raw Material & Supplier Monitoring

  • Verify the halal status of raw materials, products and packaging materials used by the company.
  • Ensure required halal certificates and supporting documents are obtained and valid.
  • Work closely with the Procurement/Purchasing team on supplier selection and approval.
  • Monitor changes to raw materials, suppliers and product formulations that may affect halal status.
  • Ensure unapproved or non-compliant materials are not used in operations.

D. Halal Audit & Inspection

  • Conduct regular halal inspections at outlets, kitchens, warehouses and other relevant premises.
  • Prepare the company for halal audits and inspections by relevant authorities.
  • Identify non-compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Prepare audit reports and monitor corrective action follow-ups.
  • Conduct regular monitoring to ensure consistent halal compliance across all outlets.

E. Training & Staff Awareness

  • Conduct halal awareness and training for employees.
  • Ensure employees understand and comply with halal-related SOPs and requirements.
  • Maintain halal training records and ensure required training is completed.
  • Conduct refresher training or briefing whenever there are changes to halal procedures.

F. SOP & Operational Control

  • Develop, review and update halal-related SOPs and procedures.
  • Ensure halal SOPs are consistently implemented across all outlets.
  • Monitor receiving, storage, preparation and serving processes to ensure halal controls are properly maintained.
  • Ensure proper segregation of materials, equipment and areas where required.

G. Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as the company’s Halal Person-in-Charge (PIC) for halal-related matters.
  • Liaise with Management, Operations, Outlet Teams, Kitchen, Procurement, QA and suppliers on halal matters.
  • Investigate and resolve halal non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen the company’s halal management system.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties related to Halal and Food Compliance as required.

2. Job SpecificationEducational Qualification

  • Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Halal Management
  • Islamic Studies / Shariah
  • Food Science
  • Food Technology
  • Quality Management
  • or any related field.

Professional Qualification

  • Halal Executive Certificate / recognised Halal Executive training is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Malaysian Halal requirements and JAKIM requirements.
  • Knowledge of Halal Assurance System (HAS).

Working Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Halal, QA/QC, Food Safety or the F&B industry.
  • Experience in halal documentation and halal audit management is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may be considered.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of halal documentation and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of:
  • Halal compliance
  • Halal certification
  • Raw material verification
  • Supplier monitoring
  • Internal halal audit
  • SOP and basic food safety requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
  • Able to prepare clear and organised reports and documentation.

  • Firm and responsible in ensuring SOP and halal compliance.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Other Requirements

  • Willing to travel between outlets, kitchens and warehouses when required.
  • Able to work according to F&B operational requirements.
  • Possession of own transportation is an advantage.
  • Willing to perform other duties related to Halal Compliance as assigned by Management.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
