Job Vacancy: Assistant Officer – R&D Department

Job Summary

We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Officer to support the R&D team in project coordination, documentation, sample management, procurement follow-up, and reporting. The role will support projects involving fish oil extraction, soy creamer powder, coffee extraction, and softgel development.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain project schedules, trackers, action lists, and trial plans.
• Arrange meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Prepare and organise R&D documents such as trial records, reports, SOPs, quotations, specifications, and presentations.
• Coordinate raw materials, samples, packaging materials, and trial outputs, including labelling, storage, and usage records.
• Support laboratory testing, sensory evaluation, pilot trials, and sample submissions.
• Prepare purchase requisition information and follow up supplier quotations, datasheets, certificates, and delivery status.
• Compile trial data and prepare tables, charts, and summary reports for management review.
• Ensure proper document control, confidentiality, and record keeping.
• Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, laboratory safety, and hygiene requirements.
• Draft routine emails, letters, and progress updates for review and approval.
• Perform other R&D coordination duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1–3 years of relevant experience is an advantage.
• Experience in R&D administration, laboratory support, food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing operations is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food or nutraceutical product development, laboratory practices, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
• Able to prepare trackers, tables, basic calculations, and charts.
• Good written and spoken English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is required.
• Organised, detail-oriented, responsible, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with internal departments and suppliers.
