Full job description

SHE OFFICER

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensure adherence to government’s and local authorities’ laws and regulations related to safety, health, and environment at the work place, free zone and tenant’s premises;

2. Advise the employer and tenant of free zone on the measures to be taken in the interests of the safety and health of the persons employed at the workplace, free zone and tenant’s premises;

3. Advise the employer and tenant of free zone on the measures to be taken relating to the prevention, abatement, control of pollution and enhancement of the environment;

4. Investigate on accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurance, occupational; poisoning or occupational disease that has occurred at the work place, free zone, and tenant’s premises;

5. Prepare investigation report and make recommendations to the employer and tenant of free zone on the remedial measures to be taken to prevent the reoccurrence of such incident;

6. Collect, analyse and maintain statistics on accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurance, occupational; poisoning or occupational disease that has occured at the work place, free zone, and tenant’s premises;

7. Ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2015 QMS and ISO 45001:2018 OSH MS;

8. Assist the employer in organizing and implementing safety, health and environmental programme in the facilities;

9. Submit JKKP 8 online to DOSH via MyKKP before 31st January of each year;

10. Check and approve tenant’s request to handle dangerous goods (DG) in the free zone;

11. Liaison Officer for PKFZ for matters related to safety, health, and environment at the work place, free zone and tenant’s premises;

12. Responsible for overall planning, implementation on Environment, Occupational Safety and Health matters within work places;

13. To advise the employer or any person in charge of a place of work on the measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of the persons employed in the place of work;

14. To inspect the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance appliance or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work;

15. To investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which has happened in the place of work;

16. To assist the safety and health committee in any inspection of the place of work for the purposes of checking the effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with all related Act, Regulation and Guideline;

17. To collect, analyse and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning and occupational disease which have occurred at the place of work;

18. To brief all employees and contractors on environmental/ health & safety policy and procedures;

19. Preparing, planning and implementing safe waste disposal strategies, managing budgets and ensuring that all waste disposal activities comply with environmental laws and regulations;

20. Conduct internal environmental system audits as well as leading external audit including creating audit findings, determine proper corrective and preventive actions and closing out audit findings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree / Diploma in any discipline preferably in Environmental, Safety & Health or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of incident report & current Safety & Health Legislations
  • Competency Green Book/Yellow Book and training in Safety or First Aid Qualification
  • Competency training in Safety or First Aid Qualification
  • A certified Safety & Health Officer (by NIOSH or any other certifying body) is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of incident report & current Safety & Health Legislations

  • Independent, sharp-minded, positive attitudes, good team player.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
