ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION(S)

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

WORK EXPERIENCE (in years)

Minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience, ideally within an engineering consultancy or EPC firm servicing the oil and gas sector.

Foundational exposure to offshore or onshore production facilities, refineries, or petrochemical facilities.

JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Mechanical Engineer supports the design, specification, and technical execution of static, rotating, and package equipment for upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas projects. Working within an engineering consultancy environment, you will apply industry codes and client standards to deliver high- quality engineering packages while collaborating with cross-functional project teams.

• Language: ENGLISH & BAHASA MALAYSIA
• Familiarity with industry codes including ASME (Section VIII), API (610, 650), ANSI, and ASTM standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Exposure to simulation tools like PV Elite (for pressure vessels) or Caesar II (for piping stress analysis) is highly advantageous.
• Strong documentation habits with clear capability in engineering report writing

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Design & Documentation

• Prepare mechanical data sheets and technical specifications for equipment under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Perform engineering calculations including wall thickness, pressure vessel calculations, and pump hydraulics.
• Draft and update engineering deliverables like equipment lists, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and utility flow diagrams (PFDs).
• Review vendor drawings and technical documentation to verify compliance with project constraints and client specifications.

Procurement & Vendor Support

• Develop Technical Requisitions for inquiry and purchase of static and rotating equipment packages.

· Assist in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) by comparing vendor proposals against project specification templates.

• Clarify technical queries raised by equipment vendors during the bidding and manufacturing stages.

Project Collaboration & Quality Control

• Coordinate interface requirements with structural, piping, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
• Participate in safety reviews such as Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies when required.
• Maintain project technical files and track document revisions using company data management protocols.

Pay: RM4,000.00 per month
