Offshore Medic cum RO– Offshore Kota Bharu

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Offshore Medic to support our client's offshore operations at offshore Kota Bharu.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing onsite medical and emergency response support to offshore personnel.

This position will also undertake a secondary role as an AMRO / Helicopter Radio Operator, therefore candidates with a valid Helideck Radio Operator Certificate are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and first-line emergency response to personnel onboard the offshore facility.
• Assess, manage and stabilise medical and trauma cases.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate medical evacuation when required.
• Maintain accurate medical records, treatment documentation and medical reports.
• Maintain and monitor medical equipment, medication and medical supplies onboard.
• Participate in emergency response drills and offshore emergency preparedness activities.
• Provide health awareness and medical advice to offshore personnel where required.
• Communicate with the onshore medical support team for case management and medical direction.
• Perform the secondary role of AMRO / Helicopter Radio Operator.
• Support helicopter operations and radio communications in accordance with site and client requirements.
• Comply with all applicable HSE, offshore and client operating procedures.

Requirements

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Nursing, Diploma in Medical Assistant, or equivalent recognised academic qualification.
• Registered Nurse or Medical Assistant with the relevant Malaysian regulatory authority.
• Hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) issued by the relevant Malaysian authority.
• Minimum 3 years of post-graduation working experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an Emergency Unit, Trauma Unit or similar clinical environment within the last 3 years; OR
• Minimum 2 years of working experience as an Offshore Medic.
• Hold a valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Trauma Life Support (TLC) or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
• Hold a valid Helideck Radio Operator Certificate.
• Able to work in an offshore environment and comply with offshore mobilisation requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• Previous offshore Oil & Gas experience.
• Experience working independently as a site or offshore medic.
• Valid and current offshore medical and safety certifications.
• Previous experience supporting helicopter operations.
• Experience performing both Offshore Medic and AMRO / Radio Operator duties.
• Good emergency response, communication and documentation skills.
