Full job description

We are looking for a Medical Record Officer (Medical Coder) to join our Medical Records Unit. The role is responsible for medical coding, DRG coding, health data management, and regulatory reporting, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information and healthcare data.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma/Degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Health Sciences or equivalent.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in medical coding, medical records, or healthcare operations is an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE & CODING

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD-10/ICD-11 coding.
  • Knowledge of DRG coding and healthcare data reporting requirements.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Familiar with SMRP 2.0, ProtectHealth PACED, e-Reporting, and Health Information Systems.
  • Competent in data entry, data compilation, extraction, and statistical reporting.

ACCURACY & ANALYTICAL SKILLS

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in clinical documentation, coding, and health information handling.
  • Able to identify coding errors, incomplete information, and data discrepancies, and take appropriate action.

COMMUNICATION, INDEPENDENCE & CONFIDENTIALITY

  • Able to work independently and meet assigned timelines.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion when handling patient medical records and health information.

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
