Medical Laboratory Technologist jobs in Selangor

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the laboratory to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of all test results.
• Monitor and review all assigned laboratory tasks to maintain high-quality data output in compliance with established standards.
• Prioritize and promptly handle all urgent test requests, ensuring results are delivered within the expected turnaround time.
• Immediately communicate all critical or abnormal test findings to the respective staff nurses or clinicians for prompt clinical action.
• Report any equipment malfunction, irregularity, or deviation from standard operating procedures to the immediate superior without delay.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, taking all reasonable precautions to prevent accidents or hazards involving patients, staff, or visitors.
• Maintain accurate documentation and proper labelling of specimens, reagents, and test reports in accordance with laboratory quality standards.
• Participate in internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assurance (EQA) programs to ensure continuous accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and validation of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science or a related field.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and preferably some local dialects.
• Proactive, good team player, and effective communicator.
• Competent in performing standard laboratory modalities and procedures.
• Ensures that the highest quality laboratory services are delivered to customers.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and adheres strictly to laboratory safety and quality assurance protocols.
