Full job description

Our client, a well-established company in the business process outsourcing (BPO) and engineering support services industry, is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join its remote team based in Kuala Lumpur.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in pre-contract estimating, quantity take-offs, and interior fit-out works. You'll work closely with an offshore team supporting New Zealand projects, preparing accurate measurements and documentation that contribute to successful project tendering and pricing.

Work Arrangement:

  • Fully Remote (Work From Home)
  • Monday – Friday
  • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (MYT) (aligned with New Zealand business hours)

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator.
  • Strong experience in interior fit-out works (mandatory).
  • Experience with:
  • Drywall / plasterboard
  • Suspended or decorative ceilings
  • Partitioning, linings, and interior finishing works
  • Proven experience in pre-contract estimating, quantity take-offs, and measurement.
  • Experience with residential or light commercial projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff (OST) is preferred.
  • Experience with Quick Bid is an added advantage.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud collaboration tools such as SharePoint or OneDrive.
  • Solid understanding of construction drawings and measurement principles.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and process-driven.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in a remote environment.
  • Proactive with a willingness to learn international construction standards and workflows.

ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract Estimating & Quantity Take-Offs

  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from architectural drawings and project specifications for residential, light commercial, and multi-residential interior projects.
  • Develop and maintain measurement files using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Quick Bid where applicable.
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Apply internal measurement methodologies and pricing standards.

Documentation & Data Preparation

  • Organise take-off data to support quotation and pricing preparation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including project assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications.
  • Ensure all measurement records are complete, organised, and consistent.

Collaboration & Project Support

  • Work closely with offshore estimators and Quantity Surveying teams to support project delivery.
  • Manage project documentation using cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarify drawing discrepancies where required.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer, project handovers, and ongoing training sessions.

Quality & Process Compliance

  • Follow internal quantity surveying procedures, trade checklists, and quality standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all quantity measurements.
  • Contribute to process improvements, workflow optimisation, and documentation templates.

Pay: Up to RM5,500.00 per month
