Summary of Role
Our client is seeking a Group CFO to lead the Finance & Accounting function across Southeast Asia, covering Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. This role oversees a regional team of 18 and is responsible for driving financial strategy, governance, and operational excellence across multiple markets.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on yet strategic finance leader who can contribute immediately, operate effectively within a multicultural environment, and partner closely with business stakeholders to drive sustainable growth and performance.
Job Description

Lead and take full ownership of the end-to-end accounting and financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness across all regional entities

Establish and enforce robust internal controls, governance frameworks, and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Drive continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and standardisation across the region

Ensure high standards in the quality, consistency, and timeliness of financial and management reporting, including statutory reporting and performance analytics

Oversee the preparation and delivery of comprehensive management accounting insights, enabling informed and timely business decision-making

Review, challenge, and supervise business plans, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets

Partner closely with commercial and operational teams to evaluate sales strategies, optimise margins, and enhance profitability across projects and business opportunities

Provide financial leadership in assessing investment decisions, business cases, and growth initiatives, ensuring optimal returns and effective risk management

Strengthen financial visibility through forward-looking analytics, KPI frameworks, and performance dashboards

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Act as a trusted business partner to senior leadership, contributing to long-term strategy, operational excellence, and organisational growth
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications

Qualified Chartered Accountant (mandatory)

Proven track record within a multinational (MNC) environment, with regional or multi-country exposure
-
Prior exposure to the chemical industry is highly preferred; candidates from other complex industries will be considered for strong profiles

Demonstrated experience in leading cross-border teams and regional finance operations
-
Chinese language capability is an advantage to support stakeholder engagement
-
Ability to contribute immediately with minimal learning curve in a fast-paced environment
