If you are an intern in the sales and marketing department, the supervisors will treat you like a KID/ inexperience student as well as addressing you as "little girl, little boy" who is someone whom they can treat you like someone who does not have any knowledge in the field as you will be responded as a graduate who only thinks and suggest based on textbook knowledge even if you bring up suggestions/ideas. Basically it clearly drawn a line between the interns and supervisors regarding the level of superiority which makes you felt look down upon / setting a barrier of communication.
