PwC is a great training ground to learn about audit methodology, risk assessment, and project management.
As a senior associate in the Risk Assurance practice, I worked on multiple clients at a time. For each engagement I managed staff throughout the audit process. The Firm culture is designed for high performing, hard working, intelligent people. The hardest part of the job is juggling the demands of several engagements and the needs of different managers at one time. The most enjoyable part of the job is building relationships with co-workers and client contacts. Another enjoyable aspect is having the opportunity to instruct and train on subject matters internally.
Has busy seasons as well as low seasons. Lots of learning and development opportunities and on-job coaching provided by seniors. Exposure to many different industries and clients working in one place. Professional environment. Flexible work arrangements.
learning, exposure to multiple industries and workplaces
Long hours, commute
Its a hedonistic, cutthroat, assembly line mentality, carried out by well dressed, high IQ and entitled arrogant children, who try hard to play as if they were grown ups. One day, the bubble will burst.
Great on any resume.
The emperor is naked.
No two days are alike I have learnt the best Risk Management & Internal Audit skills Work at PwC is awesome and a great place to start. The teams are awesome and management really believes and consults its people.
World Class experience
workload can sometimes be overwhelming
Going to the client site, learning about their work environment and the industry they operate in. Working cohesively as a team to meet the audit's objectives and liaising with the managers on the jobs. The harderst thing about the job is when you're working on multiple clients at the same time, this would mean extensive traveling between the clients. Being able to work flexible hours is enjoyable.
The people you work with, flexible hours and social events.
Can include extensive travelling when working on multiple clients at once.
