Fun but no work life balance
Social Media Marketing (Former Employee) - Malaysia - 7 May 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedColleagues are all young and friendly but the amount of work you get is crazy and you won't get paid to work overtime if you are higher than a certain amount of salary. I did not regret leaving Shopee as I have a better work life balance now and so much happier. Salary is also so-so.

Good Benefit & Lively Working Environment
Supervisor, Dispute Management (Former Employee) - Kuala Lumpur - 29 December 2022
Shopee offers good benefit to the employees, the food especially. Co-workers are fun too and helpful no matter which department. However some department have questionable leadership and tend to micromanage. Most of the complaints to HR does not give real solution.
Pros
Lots of free food, good pay, gifts especially on campaigns & festive celebrations
Cons
Poor leadership and management, no work life balance, hard to get annual leave approved, HR not very employee friendly and most importantly high KPI which is stressful

Business development (Former Employee) - Level 25, South Point Tower, Lingkaran Syed Putra, Mid Valley City, - 10 November 2022
Several things worth pointing out are within the overall atmosphere. My fellow team members have been wonderful helping me get setup in my developer area. Quotient does fun and interesting things such as having a large celebration once a month for all employees with birthdays that month. The hiring process was wonderful and easily streamlined. All expectations were made clear throughout the entire process. I look forward to making a full career at Quotient by achieving the expectations placed in front of me

A place for extrovert. Hipster, young people, intense, office politics
Customer service (Former Employee) - Mid Valley City - 20 June 2022
I dont know anyone above 40s here. Everyone is so young so the culture also like you see on tv, very active. Because of that, there's a lot of office politics because so many immature people fanning their leaders. Favoritism exist. Easy to get career growth as long as you know how to fan your leader. The good things are foods, events, and high OT and callback payment on your offday. Even when you have no money at the end of month, just go to pantry and eat for breakfast lunch and eat dinner before you go back for FREE! They got breads, biscuits, snacks, cereals, variety of instant noodle cup, milks, 3in1 sachet, carbonated drink, coffee machine, planta, kaya, strawberry jem, fruits like banana and apple, even nestle ice cream in fridge like in convenience store. Not to mention once a week dessert from management. Why foods? Because it's so stressful and can be toxic. So when you are about to cry, food is the solution. Event 9.9, 11.11, 12.12 and any celebrations like CNY and Raya usually are the busiest, but they will give you gifts on most events. My advice is, if you can handle office politics and have heart of stone, you can stay.

Great working environment but poor management and no growth
Senior Associate (Former Employee) - Kuala Lumpur - 22 January 2021
Sounds good to be true. They portrayed themselves as best company to work for but in fact, no one will appreciate your effort and contribution here. You have to be smart, work with the right people in order to climb up the ladder as most of the management people here practice favouritism. The work life balance here is relatively poor. They expect you to work for long hours and this is how you have to show how committed you are to the job.
Pros
loaded pantry snacks, young working environment
Cons
No growth opportunity, management practice favouritism

Not as good as it seems
Admin Assistant (Current Employee) - Kuala Lumpur - 1 July 2020
I work in Shopee part-time. Shopee hires every-single-day and if you want chill/stagnant job, this is for you. With Shopee its like falling in love. 1st month, you'll be all over Shopee. 6th month you start to see flaws. After a year - you'll be completely out of love.
Pros
Free food, nice pantry, occasional after work activities
Cons
Pay is definitely on the low end
