Difficult to have a healthy career grow

The working days, annual leaves is superb here. But after 8 years spent, i'm still at the same position. Workload is better now compared to before COVID. Now its lesser because of system automization and with that, comes with the possible layoff.

regret of joining here

working here totally depending on management as some are micromanaging bosses - not leader. Sick leaves and hospitalization treated like you're a sinner or more of robots you have to work regardless - doesn't make sense yes, some management can be inhuman and inconsiderate. Some management doesn't even bothers whether or not you are fine, how are you? nothing all they want is you to work like cheap labors and ask about promotion - manager said (even i haven't gotten any promotion for the past 4 years) i will find fault no matter how good you are to consistently improve yourself - but is it really improving or discouraging us? no sense of appreciation. worse still married people with kids if got sick child - better resign and be a homemaker? i was in denial such big organisation management could give such remarks. TOXIC!

Work life balance

Good start for intetnational banking. A good product in most banking Customer service: Banking is a service-oriented industry, and providing excellent customer service is crucial. Effective communication, active listening, problem-solving, and the ability to handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally are highly valued skills.

Good Benefits but Poor Management and Process Guide

If the bank would have a clear process guideline and managerial support, no employees would want to leave this bank for its benefits. Sadly, the poor process guide has led to backs-and-forths and long TAT in onboarding. Despite the bank has pride itself for being “Here for Good”, the conservative approach is taking toll on customer satisfaction. What’s worst is that too management is not listening to his people. As business unit facing difficulties in growing the product, it leaves little opportunity for career advancement.

Hard to navigate

Hard to navigate the culture and organisation. Work life balance is preached but management and line managers don't follow, so it makes you feel like you're not pulling your weight. Will kick you out the moment they have the chance.

Pros

Hybrid working

Cons

Bad office location and parking

Good environment and teamwork

Working at SCB you can improve yourself because the bank is giving the opportunity to growth on your career path. You must be an extraordinary to show to your superior that you are able to take responsibility in every aspect of your job scope.

Great place to work

Loved my time working here - lots of nice people, supportive bosses and great company culture. Work life balance wasn't the greatest but I guess that was just my department because everyone else went back on time. Lol.

Good place to grow

It's a good place to work and develop your own skill. The management might not be that good as they would be more focus on task given to them than your capability. But it's good if you found the right team.
