Position Overview:
The Corporate Legal Officer will oversee and manage the legal affairs of the organization, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and supporting corporate governance. This individual will work closely with internal teams and external counsel to provide strategic legal guidance, draft and review legal documents, and ensure that the company's business practices align with relevant legal frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory:
- Provide proactive legal advice and support to management and business units on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
- Monitor and interpret changing laws, regulations, and policies affecting the business.
Compliance:
- Ensure that the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations, including corporate governance, securities law, labor law, and industry-specific regulations.
- Develop and implement internal legal policies, standards, and guidelines.
Contracts Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, service agreements, NDAs, and MOUs.
- Oversee the approval and execution process for contractual agreements.
Corporate Governance:
- Support the company’s board of directors and executive team on governance matters, including preparing board resolutions and maintaining corporate records.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory filings and other statutory obligations.
Risk Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations.
- Lead the resolution of disputes, litigation, or regulatory investigations in collaboration with external counsel.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with regulators, external counsel, auditors, and other third parties on legal matters.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align legal strategies with business goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) is preferred.
- Admission to the Bar or equivalent legal accreditation.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in corporate law, preferably within a corporate or in-house legal environment.
- Proven expertise in managing complex legal and compliance issues.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities effectively.

WORKING HOUR
Monday to Friday (8.30am to 5.30pm)
